"Promethium only sources from Colombia" "Promethium only has Colombians" "Promethium has no origin variance" "I'm unhappy in life and that's Promethium's fault" - okay clearly no one has ever said this. But that hasn't stopped us from digging deeply into our sourcing network to stunt on the disbelievers regardless. And while we dont really have any, we present Pom Pom, from a long-time discovery of Ronal Carranza's farm, Guardian Del Bosque, in Western Peru. Ronal is doing Promethium-esque experimentation on excellently grown crop, in this case, his gesha plot. It's a one-hundred-and-twenty-hour straight fermentation, no wash, no co-fermenting. The result? A surprisingly clean gesha when brewed, okay yay. But this is Promethium, and you know there's more here as we only specialize in the excellent - and in this coffee we get absolutely bombed by the most real and vibrant blueberry impression as this coffee cools. Like real real blueberry, reminding us of the good ole' days when Ethiopian coffees from Yirgacheffe were the rage of specialty coffee in the 2010s for their iconic blueberry impressions - something that has since been lost in the origin. However, we invite you to relive those special early days in the industry through the lens of an underrated farmer's experimentation in the highlands of Peru.

Ronal's farm, Guardian del Bosque, sits at 1500 meters in Peru's Amazonas region, where the eastern side of the Andes mountains meet the Amazon. Ronal's been a key figure in Peru's smaller experimental coffee production scene. Yet he has been instrumental in elevating the Peruvian coffee quality of his region through education and infrastructure improvements. Guardian Del Bosque is certified organic and focuses on sustainable farming practices that work in harmony with the surrounding Amazon ecosystem. The name "Guardian del Bosque" literally means "Guardian of the Forest." It mirrors Ronal's commitment to protecting portions of his land as native forest to preserve local biodiversity. Amazonas province is still relatively unknown in specialty coffee compared to Colombian regions, but it offers some serious advantages for experimental processing: the high humidity and consistent temperatures create ideal conditions for controlled fermentation, while the volcanic soil provides excellent drainage and mineral content that Gesha thrives on. Ronal's processing experiment represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking work that's going to put more Peruvian coffee on the specialty map, and on our offer list for you to enjoy!

We recommend resting our coffees 3 weeks minimum, around 20-45 days we see most coffees begin to open up to the best depictions of their beauty.

Note: We roast weekly on Mondays, ship Wednesday-Thursday and work with concierge for order updates on Friday. All orders must be placed by 11:59p Sundays to be included on the next day roast and be dispatched that week. All orders placed after this will automatically be included in the follow week's roast + fulfilled that following week.

Occasionally on release week's we'll take on an additional day roasting to help handle the volume, please keep an eye on your inbox for earlier than expected shipments of your orders

For your information: We strategically do not heat seal our 200g bags, rather opting for a simple zipper close and fold setting in the boxes. We do not want additional effort for patrons to access their coffees. This also allows us to roast light more confidently knowing we have slightly more surface area for exiting gasses in the resting beans while minimizing unwanted ambient airflow
